House Bill 641 and Senate Bill 764

This legislation aims to enhance consumer awareness by requiring clear warning labels on food and beverage products containing synthetic dyes linked to health concerns, including behavioral issues in children and other potential risks. The legislation also directs the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (DACS) to conduct inspections to ensure compliance with these labeling requirements.

Speakers at the press conference for HB 641 and SB 764 are Vani Hari, also known as the “Food Babe,” a well-known food activist and author who has led national efforts to increase transparency in food labeling and advocate for the removal of harmful additives from the food supply. Hari will be a featured guest at the event. Also speaking is Todd Wagner, tech and media entrepreneur and co-founder of FoodFight USA, a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization dedicated to cleaning up America’s tainted food supply.

“It’s time we take the health of Floridians seriously. We cannot keep ignoring the truth about what is in our food. This bill is more than just putting warning labels on our food packages—it’s about raising awareness, making our food system more transparent, holding the government accountable for protecting consumers, and ensuring that public health comes first.”
